Do you know that Kelly Osbourne’s hair is falling out? Or how TomKat and Brangelina are doing? How about the fact that Paris Hilton and designer Julien Macdonald were pelted with flour bombs at London Fashion Week? And how about Lindsay Lohan’s bout with bulimia? No? Not following? Then I give you a warm hearted welcome to my favourite guilty pleasure, the scandalous world of celebrity gossip blogs.

The latest internet phenomenon has been blogs. Everyone and their dogs are spilling their hearts out all over the internet, and an offshoot of this craze has been the gossip blog. Less trashy than buying tabloids, and accessible to anyone, these oh-so-juicy websites have been getting tons of attention lately. They get millions of hits, they’re featured on TV, they’re adored by the very celebrities they tear apart. Enter you. Wide-eyed, innocent and in denial of your desire to know who did what with who and where and what sex tapes/drug use/eating disorders resulted. Hold on to your horses kids, and get ready to get shallow.

Here are my favourite gossip blogs, rated on a scale of 1-5 *s:

PinkIsTheNewBlog.com ****
This one is actually rather ridiculously famous. Joel Madden from Good Charlotte sings it praises in interviews, and its even been featured on I Heart, a show on Star channel. This blog is updated everyday by some guy named Trent, who has a love for Britney Spears and squealing over cute celeb couples. While a little self-absorbed, he delivers some top-notch gossip and commentary. This blog is mostly for the photos, which Trent adorns with his trademark pink font comments. The news is kept brief, and contains more opinion than other blogs. And by “opinion” I mean, “they’re so cute”. Overall, this is the best gossip blog out there if all you’re looking for is some brief gossip and lots of pictures. Also, don’t miss the Hot Dude Of The Week.

The goal of this blog is basically to make fun of as many people as possible. Period. It’s more focused on gossip rather than photos, and there’s plenty of commentary thrown in by its anonymous authors. Cruel, but hilarious, this blog pokes fun at everyone they can get an ounce of gossip on. My one problem with this particular site is that its not updated as frequently as others. So if you hate celebrities (but not enough as to not talk about just how much you hate them) this blog is for you.

This is my favourite gossip blog. It strikes the perfect balance between gossip and photos, with just a dash of commentary thrown in. This is the best place to go to get all the latest news, and its updated almost constantly, so there’s always some new tidbits to check out. The photos here are always big and plentiful, unlike Pink and Superficial. They also target everyone, not just the big names. It’s mostly kept unbiased, since the commentary is usually minimal. Although there has been an increase in it lately, probably in an effort to keep up with Pink. If you’re new to the gossip blog scene, definitely check out Hollywood Rag.

You are now armed with the information to become a celebrity gossip know-it-all. So go forth and conquer. Within no time you’ll be hooked of the going ons of the rich and fabulous. Not because you care of course, you just like laughing at them. Really.
